Discover New Mystery Authors
One of the best things about reading independent fiction is discovering talented authors whose books might not yet be on your radar.
Throughout November, the November Crime Stories BookFunnel giveaway brings together crime, mystery, and thriller authors offering free stories for readers to discover.
Whether you enjoy traditional detective mysteries, private investigator adventures, hardboiled crime fiction, or suspenseful thrillers, this collection offers an opportunity to explore something new.
It’s also a great way to discover independent writers and perhaps find your next favorite mystery series.
The promotion runs November 1–30, 2026, so there’s plenty of time to explore the collection.
Meet Frank Rozzani—Before His First Novel."
My contribution to the November Crime Stories giveaway is Before Frankly Speaking, a free mystery novella that takes readers back to the very beginning of the Frank Rozzani Detective Series.
Before Frank became a private investigator solving mysteries along Florida’s Atlantic coast, he was a former Syracuse police detective looking for a fresh start.
Arriving in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Frank hopes to leave his old life behind. But starting over isn’t quite as simple as he imagined.
Along the way, he meets some of the characters who will become fixtures in his life: Fat Sam Monreaux, the colorful owner of the Sun Dog; Jonesy, a larger-than-life personality who becomes a trusted friend; and Lucy, a stray black dog who changes Frank’s life forever.
And when a series of thefts begins troubling local businesses, Frank discovers that his detective instincts are harder to leave behind than he expected.
Before Frankly Speaking reveals how Frank’s new life begins, introduces the friendships that shape his future, and sets the stage for the mysteries to come.
If you’ve never read a Frank Rozzani mystery, this is the perfect place to start.
And if you enjoy the prequel, you can continue Frank’s adventures in the seven-book Frank Rozzani Detective Series, beginning with Frankly Speaking.
