A New Trailer for Frankly Speaking

Every book begins with a spark of imagination, but sometimes it’s fun to step back and see that story brought to life in a completely different way.

Recently, I experimented with creating a short cinematic trailer for Frankly Speaking, the first novel in my Frank Rozzani detective series. Using a combination of visual storytelling and music, the goal was to capture the tone of the novel—the mystery, the tension, and the atmosphere of a case that quickly becomes far more complicated than it first appears.

For readers who may not be familiar with the story, Frankly Speaking introduces Frank Rozzani, a former police detective who has stepped away from the badge but not from the instincts that made him a good investigator. When a wealthy family hires him to find their missing daughter, what initially seems like a straightforward case begins to unravel into something far darker.

Alongside his longtime friend and investigative partner Clifford “Jonesy” Jones, Frank starts pulling at threads that others would prefer remain buried. As they dig deeper into the disappearance of Maggie Bullock, they encounter powerful figures, carefully guarded secrets, and a network of influence that has been operating quietly for years.

The deeper Frank investigates, the more he realizes this isn’t simply a missing person case. It’s a carefully constructed story—one that someone has spent a long time controlling.

And Frank has never been particularly good at leaving things alone.
