As a true crime reader, it is always interesting reading crime fiction and seeing the threads of real types of crimes and even being able to personally reference real crimes that are similar which gives the fiction more realism. I have always found watching investigator interviews particularly interesting with how the detectives build rappour. As well as creating timelines of evidence.
One of the things I enjoy about writing a detective series is that I can take my established characters and put them in different scenarios (crime scenes, locations, etc.) and see how they’ll react.
